Danielle DiGiacomi began dancing at the age of 3, and is a former graduate of Somerville Dance Academy. An accomplished tapper, she competed with the Canadian National Tap team, winning Gold in 2006. As she developed as a dancer, her love for teaching and choreography took over, and she has now been instructing at SDA for 10 years.
Danielle is a registered member of the Performing Arts Educators of Canada (PAEC) with a membership in Tap as well as enthusiastic member of the PAEC Jazz and Hip Hop committees. Danielle enjoys sharing her passion for dance in schools as well, teaching the dance portion of the gym curriculum for grades 5 to 8 at The Country Day School. Danielle has been recognized for her choreography in numerous competitions, and has choreographed for the McMaster University dance team.
Danielle is proud to be co-captain of SDA’s Relay for Life team – Dancing for Life. The team has raised over $100,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society through events and the annual choreography showcase. Danielle is looking forward to continuing her career as a dance instructor and choreographer, and is excited to share her passion for dance at Somerville Dance Academy!
