Our Twinkling Tots and Sparkling Stars programs are a fun way to introduce 3 & 4 year olds to the world of dance. Basic ballet and jazz technique is incorporated into playful dance exercises, allowing children to explore movement and musicality. Children learn spatial awareness, and develop their fine and gross motor skills in preparation for future dance training. These are great programs for energetic and creative children alike. We offer classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop to our 5/6 year old dancers. These classes build foundational dance skill in a playful way, while teaching technique in a specific discipline. Acrobatic dance combines classical dance technique with gymnastics, and focuses on smooth, fluid transitions between precise acrobatic movements. Dancers will increase their physical strength and flexibility as they learn skills such as headstands, cartwheels and walkovers. Tricks are developed on an individual basis depending on age and ability.
Tumbling class is offered for acrobatic students looking to enhance their tricks. It focuses on training towards aerials, back handsprings, and more advanced tumbling skills.

Ballet is the technical foundation of all dance, which focuses on development of posture, turnout, articulation of the feet, extensions and overall body placement. Dancers learn to combine technical steps with grace and elegance. Ballet class is essential for any serious dancer, and is mandatory for dancers considering SDA’s competitive program.
