“Dancing for Life” is an eager team of SDA dancers, parents and teachers that fundraise for the Canadian Cancer Society, a cause that is near and dear to many of our hearts.
Each year, the team participates in the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. This event is held to celebrate our loved ones who have won a battle with cancer, to remember our loved ones who have lost their battle and to fight back and raise funds to stop cancer in its tracks.
Since the “Dancing for Life” team was formed in 2004, we have raised over $120,000. Over the years, the team has been passed down from captain to captain. The team is currently being led by 2 of SDA’s teachers, Miss Amanda and Miss Danielle. The team organizes a variety of events and fundraisers throughout the dance season, including bake sales, water bottle sales, colours for life, candy guessing jars, and even a carwash.
Our biggest event is our annual “Dancing for Life” Choreography Showcase, which features student and teacher choreography. Watch the video below for some highlights of our 2016 Showcase!
